Eli seMbessakwini is a world-renown artist (filmmaker, performance artist, and writer) and intersex advocate. Her two short video works 'Intersex Exposition: Full Monty' (2002) and 'Born Queer: dear doctors' (2003) have been screened numerous times all over the world; in film festivals including London, in San Francisco, Paris, Sydney; and as part of the Intersex 1-0-1 exhibition in Berlin July 2005. Her films are also in the permanent collection of several major universities around the world. Her articles have appeared in Greenpepper magazine, On Our Backs, LOTL and the anthology 'That's Revolting'. Eli has given several presentations including at Tel Aviv University, UCLA, Stockholm Pride and the Body Modification Conference at Macquarie University in Sydney. HEr website at www.geocities.com/greenpiratequeen has over 18,000 visitors so far. She is currently working on a third film project, a short video tentatively titled 'Beyond the Sex/Gender Binary'.
